We are deaf people using a cochlear implant. If you don’t know what a cochlear implant is, or wish to know more about it, we suggest you go to Crônicas da Surdez (you can choose your language) and Portal Otorrino [in Portuguese].

Even though deafness is invisible, we are all over the world. Soon there will be one million people with cochlear implants. Amazing, isn’t it?

Technology has changed the way we experience deafness: can you imagine people with profound hearing loss speaking on the phone? In 2016, this is more common than you might think.

Even though technology has done a lot for us, it had not yet brought us all together in the same place. This is why the CI Users World Map was created: to connect every cochlear implant user on the planet, wherever they may be, in Antarctica or in Uruguay.
